So I’m pondering some ideas for a DS development tutorial and what I want to include in it. I’m thinking I’ll be putting it in a “how to make a game” theme rather than just showing people how things work. A few examples of topics I want to cover aside from the basics are:
- Metatiles (small tile maps that make larger tiles)
- Background tile animation
- Sprite movement & animation
- Parallaxing
- Collision detection
- SFX & music (not sure on this one yet)
I’m still brainstorming so any ideas are welcome. The tutorial will only cover libnds usage so you PALib zealots are out of luck. You may want to read my PALib Survival Guide to find out why.
